Broodmares

sales Stallions Training AboutUs

We believe strongly in the power of our mare herd. They are the products of 38 years of selection. From time to time, we will add photos of these marvelous mares who have the great responsibility of producing wonderful foals, year after year.

The foals grow up in large fields, with ample room to run and play.  While imprinted as foals, they primarily spend the first three years in freedom, receiving excellent nutrition and plenty of TLC.

First we should introduce Wogena

Deceased in 2005 at age 31
Shown in 1980 with her second foal by her side.  She was imported along with Maranja, both pregnant.  Maranja produced Martini and Wogena played a dual role as first serious dressage competitor for daughter, Erin and broodmare.  They competed in dressage through the American Continental Young Riders Competition, as well as eventing and a few hunter shows.  Along with that, Wogena produced 10 foals, the last when she was 26.  This photo was taken by a wonderful young photographer known as Mary Phelps.

Insouciant

La Paloma

Another super talented mare with lots of natural up carriage and gaits.   This flashy chestnut will stand out in any crowd and should have a brave, kind character for the amateur rider.
